Is the black stainless sink flange color part of the metal or applied to the stainless? Wondering about issues with chipping if it’s applied.

Great question! The black stainless steel flange color is done with a PVD finish which is very resilient and the industries best way to color stainless steel products similar to how Samsung, LG, GE manufacture their appliances. Please only use a mild dish soap to clean it and avoid using sharp brushes or pads to clean it. While it's scratch resistant and colored through, it's still wise to avoid harsh cleaners and products that can disrupt its beautiful finish. A soft sponge and/or a microfiber cloth is the best way to clean this sink or flange and have it last for a lifetime.
