Care: Avoid immerging a cutting board in water, and do NOT put it into the dishwasher. Wood can be damaged by significant temperature changes, and by too much water.

Cleaning: Use soap with hot water, and a soft sponge to clean the cutting board. Afterwards, wipe the board with a clean rag, and let the board dry before putting it away.

Stain & Odor Management: To remove stains, and odors from your cutting board, rub the surface with salt, and rub hot water onto the salt. You can use a lemon or a lime instead of hot water for tough stains. After the salt gets dissolved, rinse the board with water, wipe it with a clean rag, and let it dry.

Sanitizing Tip: You can dilute bleach or vinegar in water with a 1:32 oz ratio in a spray bottle and spray the wooden cutting board, but immediately rinse afterwards. Do not soak or use it in concentrated form directly on the surface. Use different surfaces to cut vegetables and meat to avoid cross contamination. We recommend using the wooden cutting board for the vegetables, and the acrylic cutting board for the meat.

Finishing Tip: Finishing a cutting board is not necessary, but it does increase the longevity of the board. Before finishing your board, make sure it has been sanded.  Use Tung Oil, or Polymerized linseed Oil Finishing to enhance and restore.  If you decide to use Tung Oil, it is recommended to dilute it with 50% Solvent to facilitate its application. Once Tung Oil gets into the wood, it dries and hardens inside the fibers of the wood. We recommend Polymerized linseed Oil over Traditional linseed Oil because it is thicker, it dries quicker, it does not affect the wood’s natural color as much, the smell is not as strong, and it dissolves sooner; while still being a safe solution when it comes in contact with food. You can apply as many as 4 coats, and make sure to sand between coats. Do not sand the last coat. Let the board dry for at least 24 hours before using.
